| I bought my Shark steamer on a whim. We had just purchased a bank owned home and it had been left with a rotting chicken in the refrigerator. The tile had a dried stream of "blech" from the refrigerator to the lowest part of the floor where it had pooled. I bought the steamer to sanitize the floor along this path. Something amazing happened when I used it- the grout changed color DRAMATICALLY! I posted photos so you can see for yourself. At first I thought it was somehow bleaching the grout, but then I noticed that the grout around the perimeter of the room was indeed a much lighter color- matching the tile color. EWWWWW! I had previously mopped this floor several times with a regular mop and bucket, a Swiffer wetjet, and even along this same path with a toothbrush and cleaner on my hands and knees. Nothing did what the steamer did with just water and the nylon brush attachment. I dragged the whole family in to show them because I could not believe what I was seeing! I hated the floor when we moved in. I hated the dark grout and how chopped up the tile looked with the dark grout lines. After cleaning- the grout blends into the tile and the floor has a completely different look! It's truly amazing- check out my photos- you HAVE to see it to believe. I haven't tried any of the other attachments, but I have received a steam burn on my hand from working so close to the nozzle on the floor. It's hot, just as they warn. My only complaint is that you must hold the trigger for continuous steam, and when using it continuously- it runs out of water fairly fast. Don't know how it does if you are pumping it and steaming in short bursts. Frankly, I don't care- it has done more for my floor than I had hoped. |

Did I mention I love this machine? First let me say, I seldom review anything, but I just spent three glorious hours cleaning my bathroom. I know that sounds like a long time, and a little bit crazy. You see, I live in a very old house with Spanish tile everywhere. In the seven years I have owned the house I have paid thousands of dollars to pro-housekeepers to come in and clean, only to be told "your house is too old and you can't expect the [dark colored] grout to come completely clean with out an expensive grout cleaning service". No, thank you....now it's a matter of principle. Well, guess what? As it turns out, my grout is actually light grey and I would never have known this if I hadn't purchased and used my Shark Pocket Steamer. Of course, in true "give a mouse a cookie" form, I had to use it to clean the tile on my floor, under the rim of the toilet bowl, the gross stuff that I didn't know had collected in the screws under the seat, the yuck that accumulated in the tiny crack along the base boards, and the creepy little dust that, for years, has made a home in the corners of my cabinet facing. My husband is calling me a "Steam-freak". Okay, I'm not going to lie to you, I had to use the pressure nozzle and a retired toothbrush, but my bathroom now looks brand new. It was kinda fun to watch all the stuff I thought I was just going to have to "get used to", simply wipe away. To top it all off, my 12 year old daughter watched me do all of this and the next day VOLUNTEERED to steam her brothers' disgusting teen-aged habitat. To that end, you should know the steamer gets hot enough to do the job but not so hot that (with a little instruction) I had to be worried about her getting hurt; now their bathroom looks great AND I DIDN'T HAVE TO DO IT! That's worth the 80 bucks right there. Don't get me wrong, it won't do any of the work for you, but it made it so much easier. Wait! What am I saying? It actually made it CLEAN! So, if you are willing to use a little elbow grease at first, the general up-keep with this thing will be a breeze. I couldn't be happier. I immediately went out a got the steamer mop for the nightmare that was once my terricotta flooring...BRILLIANT! I spent a little over $200 and have finally stopped being mad at my house. My husband is $20,000 happy because I am no longer in a hurry to remodel. Yeah, I know...but hey! It's the "small stuff", right?
Buy this! Buy it now!..and don't ever look back ;-) |

I am surprised to see all the bad reviews for this product. I have been using mine for a couple of months now and love it. I was looking for something to use after my favorite product for cleaning my shower tile was taken off the market! Having another Shark product that works well I decided to give this one a try.
What really sold me on this product was when it removed the old Comet powder that was in my shower floor that I had scrubbed with other scrubbers to no avail. Yes it took a little effort but the combination of steam and scrubbing did the trick. Now my floor is white again!I also do not have to worry that I won't be able to find my product on the shelf at the store as this only needs water to clean.(Nothing to buy!)
All I can tell you is this product has worked well for me. The "shot" of steam has helped me clean in alot of tight places that otherwise would not look so good today. |
Great Product

I was hesitant to try this product after reading all of the bad reviews but I was pleasantly surprised. It steams with a vengeance and the microfiber pads pick up the dirt nicely. I'm not Mrs. Clean so I had a lot of areas to test it out on. It got rid of 5 years of grease, grime and gunk in the kitchen. The microwave looks brand new...so does the Foreman grill. I've tried cleaning these things in the past and they never got as clean as they did with the Shark. I used a twist tie to hold down the steam trigger and it steamed like a locomotive. It is surprisingly powerful, very noisy and hot. It makes the immediate area hot and I worked up a sweat around it BUT it works. I can't understand the people saying that it does not get hot. MINE GETS VERY HOT. Maybe it is my New York City soft water. Anyway I went on a cleaning frenzy and am now exhausted. More cleaning tomorrow. I love this thing!

I have found this little cleaner is wonderful for specific jobs. Cleaning cabinets, blinds, walls and dusting is AWESOME. But my favorite is that I purchased the extra cleaning pocket for the "squeegee" and that alone makes this worth the money! I was able to clean my bathroom mirrors better then I have ever been with window cleaner and paper towels. It also did great on my shower door. In addition, I cleaned my large screen TV, glass tables etc. If the table has dust, I recommend wiping away the dust before using this, but other then that - EXCELLENT.
I still prefer chemicals and sponge for sinks etc. But so far, I am loving what this can do! In the summer I am going to try the scrub pocket on my grill.
